AI and data
How we use AI in client work, how we protect your data, and where AI appears on this site.
Last updated 15 October 2026
01Our commitments
- Your data stays in your own accounts, under your existing permissions.
- We never use your data to train AI models, and we choose providers whose business terms exclude training on customer data.
- A named person reviews every system before it goes live, and a person on your side owns it once it runs.
- You own what we build for you, as set out in your agreement.
02Before we see anything
We sign a confidentiality agreement before any data or system access. During the Payback Map we work from interviews, process walk-throughs and the minimum data needed to price the work, not bulk exports.
03Access and permissions
- We work through accounts you create and control, with the least access the job needs.
- You can see and revoke our access at any time.
- Credentials are kept in a password manager, never in email or documents.
04The AI models and tools we use
We choose models and tools for each build, and list them in your statement of work before anything is connected. We use business or enterprise tiers whose terms exclude training on your data, and we turn on the strictest data retention settings the provider offers.
Where your sector or contracts require it, we can keep processing within the UK or EU, or within your own cloud account.
05Human oversight
Every system has a named owner and a defined point where a person checks its output, proportionate to the risk. We log what systems do so their output can be reviewed, and nothing goes live until the team that will use it has signed it off.
06When an engagement ends
We hand over everything we built, with its documentation, and remove our access. We delete any copies of your data we hold, except where the law requires us to keep records, and confirm this in writing.
07AI on this website
Some images and film on this site are made with AI image and video tools, including stylised scenes featuring Ethan Monkhouse and illustrative scenes of people at work. People shown in generated scenes, other than Ethan, are not members of our team.
Figures in the diagrams and the sample Payback Map are worked examples, not client results. The research we cite is quoted word for word and linked to its source.
08Questions or concerns
If you have a question about how we use AI or handle data, email contact@monkhouse.ai. For how we handle personal data on this site, see our privacy notice.
